    Nice find!

I was only looking for a new bios a few days ago, my 17 left the factory with A06, but I had to roll it back to A05 for various reasons, I too noticed that they no longer seem to post what issues they have fixed any more and they haven't even posted A06 on the website. I wonder if it fixes some of the throttling issues that people have been having?

Wow ....skipped A06 all together lol....guess I will flash from that to A07 and see if it helps the fans and 780m issues. I do notice that the 17 is much louder fan wise then the R4....

EDIT 1: I did have re enter my wireless credentials after the flash so maybe it updated something to do with the Broadcom card ?

If you don't mind me asking, what reasons were they? Just curious if I was not noticing problems or?

This BIOS seems to have fixed some issues with the Network card, and some other stuff. I noticed several drivers were updated.

I am seeing higher 3DMark scores then I was last night....so that's good I guess

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ,Alienware 068R5X

I was only getting 4700 - 4800ish previous to this, but whether this is from the Bios is unknown since we don't know what it changed haha. Wondering if I roll the drivers back on the card if it will increase again like it did before or if this Bios updated brings the newer Nvidia drivers in line with where they should have been.

Thank you very much, i've upgraded to A07, and also noticed that the wifi has been lost the network after the reboot.

BTW, i've also installed the new broadcom driver as it has been released with the A07 firmware.

I've also noticed some strange wifi problems with the laptops, some anormal lag while browsing to internet website, or even some rare wifi lost connection, i hope those will be fixed with this firmware.

That was the first thing i noticed actually !!

PS : i have wired problem even before the BIOS sometimes i press the power button but it will immediately shutdown but if i immediately after that press it again it will run normally , this probably because of my RAM its 1866 G.Skill ? does anyone have one like it please let me know :) [ maybe i should mention that windows report ram speed of 1777mhz not 1866mhz which kinda of wired ]

I had major issues with the AlienFX lights, when I upgraded AWCC to 3.5, basically I couldn't tell you if it did fix my issues exactly as downgrading my BIOS was one of many options I tried, as I also had to reinstall Windows 8 and reinstall all driver's but rolling the BIOS back was one of my options as AWCC wouldn't see the AlienFX board.

What fan issues are you having? Superficially my brand new 17 sounds roughly the same as my R4, EXCEPT it's making an obnoxious high pitched squealing from the left side. Seems to be the fan when at low RPMs...I think.

And yeah, I had to reenter my WIFI password too, which I thought was kind of weird. I *think* my network is now showing up with a "2" after it, which is also kind of weird. Harmless, I guess, but a bit weird.

Hi, I can't update bios to version A07. I got this message: The timer is not enough to program image! Client must rendezvous server then update image later.

Here is my current configuration: CPU 4800MQ, GPU Nvidia 780M, 16 GB RAM, Bios version A04, Win 8.1

For any advice I would be grateful..

I'm having the same issues after installing AWCC 3.5. The lights on my system are all screwed up, but the hardware works (lights blink, etc.).

I'm going to have to remove the CMOS battery and drain all of the power and see if that resets them. AWCC 3.5 is not good.

I find the fans are much quicker to spin up and run for longer periods of time. I always had my R4 on the same cooling pad ( Cooler Master U3 ) and the laptop fans hardly ever kicked in as the cooling pad did most of the work but I find that even on the cooling pad the fans in the 17 tend to kick in right away whenever I launch anything and stay on. I am slowly getting used to it , but I def noticed it right away.

CMOS Battery removal does almost nothing with these systems.

    You're right.

Turns out the AWCC wasn't the issue. Tech support tested my system and found that the Motherboard had an issue and they're going to replace the computer.

You might have had the same issue I had. Did you run Alienfxtester? As I ran that and it said Alienfx board had failed and tech support were going to be sending me a new motherboard. I didn't really like that idea based on previous tech's coming to my house. A re-install of windows 8 fixed the issue for me. If I had to guess, upgrading from AWCC 3 to 3.5 doesn't work correctly and can be very hit and miss.

Believe me, I ran every test I can think of, and so did Tech Support. They re-installed Windows themselves and that did not solve any issues. I had already re-installed Windows several times at this point, but they wanted to do it "for the record." It was the motherboard that went bad. My PC crashes 2-3 times a day for no known reason at all. Blue screen crashes have no code next to them, or codes referring to random devices on my PC - anything from USB ports to drivers.

They do not have any motherboards in stock, so they're sending me a system replacement. My only concern is the fact that the specifications I ordered are no longer available on the website. Hopefully they offer an adequate replacement.
