Is there anyway to blind flash this computer? I accidentally applied bad overclocking settings in bios and now she won't boot. Any ideas!

The computer powers on. But right after I hit apply settings in bios, this is all it will do. Is power on.
-
Reset the BIOS, remove Battery/CMOS and hold the power button for 30 (60) seconds.

I'm taking this beast apart to get to the battery as we speak. -

I unplugged the main battery, and took out CMOS battery .. Turned on computer without CMOS battery .. The computer didn't do the beep code for the CMOS battery removal ? What's going on ? -

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Why isn't the bios resetting?
-
You have to remove all of the batteries and then hold the power button down for 30 seconds (or more). This will reset it. Then put the batteries back in and boot it up.
-
Actually it will not flash anything, it will forget about the settings done by the end user and reset to the manufacturer default. So yes, like J.Dre said, remove all the batteries connection including the coin battery, power cord and hold the power button for about a minute to remove the 'juice' from the system. Best of luck!
-
Statement corrected. I meant reset.

What I, trying to say it seems the "juice" isn't leaving and default settings arnt being applied
-
Repeat, Remove Battery + CMOS , hold power button 60 sec -> wait 2 minutes -> reinsert CMOS battery -> plug power cord (No battery yet) power on.

I've never reinserted CMOS shouldn't it know the CMOS is removed and reset bios? -

So the alienware 17 has a nvram ... Great.
-
You did not plug your power cord back in for this?

I'm confused with this questions? -
When doing the BIOS Reset, im quite sure you remove all power including PSU, not just the two batteries
Power drain with button is to be sure no capasitors have charge also.
Just wanted to verify that you remove all power.
Probably a stupid question, but noone did mention removing the power cord for this.
Just seems odd since mine forgot my BIOS settings once all power was removed and yours dont. -
Were you able to figure it out, Hack?

Nope it's still not booting, the 17 has nvram and people have a hell of time of resetting, the bios settings on this thing. The only fix I've seen past a motherboard swap is replacing the processor for a short time. And then the nvram is cleared. -
I did it on my old system and it worked. I don't understand why it isn't working for you.

I have no clue why the bios won't reset. But other users have reported the problem. -
Can u try this?Reboot system and enter the BIOS Setup by pressing F2
* Turn on Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Num Lock
* Press ALT + F (you should hear a beep)
* Press escape and save the changes -

I can't get into the bios. It will not post. -
What settings did u change that its in this state?
U can also call dell, let them change the motherboard -
Any luck, yet? I'm curious to know what the issue is, if any. It may also be helpful for others.

Whatever BIOS recovery method that used to work doesn't work anymore. Holding down END and powering the machine on will send it to recovery mode, but since USB 3.0 doesn't work in pre-boot environment on the new 2013 AW this doesn't work. Previously, on the M18x, there's a eSATA port which also acts like an USB 2.0 port. That what people used to blind flash their machines.
Removing CMOS battery and holding down power button to drain it also doesn't work. BIOS data is now stored in NVRAM (non volatile RAM), ie even if you cut off the power it stays there.
One thing to note, when playing with XTU, do not put in any negative offset, especially for the ring cache voltage for Haswell CPUs. It will brick your system.
What one has to do, is to replace the CPU temporarily (if you have 4900MQ/4930MX, and if you brick it due to overclocking it, you will need the 4700MQ. Not sure about 4800MQ because I have never tested), then once the machine boots up go to BIOS and press F9 to reset it.
Alternatively, one needs to remove CMOS battery, remove the RAM, and boot it up. It will beep 2x. Let it beep for about 1 minute or so, until the machine restarts. Turn the machine off then put the RAM back in, and turn it on again. If it beeps 5x (CMOS battery error), then the BIOS is reset. You can turn off the machine, connect the CMOS battery back in and boot it up. Go to BIOS and press F9 to reset the BIOS to default factory setting (or most importantly, turn off overclocking in BIOS for now).
If it doesn't beep 5x, you will have to repeat the steps of powering on, waiting for a 1 minute for it to restart, and put the RAM back in.
Refer to this post to the thread I made some time ago, I have had 2 mainboard replacement until I figured out how to reset the BIOS:
