Alienware 17 Clean Install .. Problem .. Maybe?

Well I took my new out of the box alienware from and did a fresh install .. On my ssd. Well for some odd reason. The computer will not sleep while plugged into the ac adapter. It will however, hibernate. Also, it will sleep and hibernate on the battery. Now you might ask .. What do you mean won't sleep! Well it turns off the display .. Then you hear it log off and wallah it's at the lockscreen not sleeping.

 

Have you gone into the power settings in windows and checked the settings?

Do step number 3 in my guide, this should repair that. This was an issue i had on my wifes computer, but after the mentioned fixed it worked as should.

 

Yes, no luck. Has anyone clean installed there alienware 17?

 

I'll give it a shot I'll report back when it's completed.

Does the Nvidia control panel have power options?

 

What about the power settings? Do you have the latest BIOS for the machine?

 

Yes sure does, I have no idea why it wont sleep with the AC plugged in ... So I just did the alternative. Loaded my M17x R4 system image. Although I initially was having BSOD related to video card driver incompatibility, this has been fixed. Also I have seemed to fix the sleep issue. However it takes about 15 seconds to sleep. When before it took 5 seconds before on battery. Of course it would not sleep at all on AC. I guess this is the only alternative. And yes of course A05 BIOS.
