Hello, everyone. I recently bought a 2013 Alienware 17. I liked everything so far about this laptop, but one thing kinda bothers me is that FN key volume change which cannot be adjusted. When you press FN+F8, it preset to turn up 10% each time. Everyone who has a Alienware 17 should know that its speaker volume is really loud. I usually have the volume set to 20%, but sometimes it just too loud for some game or video so I tried to FN+F7 it to turn it down abit, but this time is too quiet now.

So here is my question; is there a way to adjust the ratio of the volume change? Say 5% from 10%.

    Cheers.

I use the Windows settings to adjust volume. Near the clock, bottom right. My FN key doesn't work in game, so i popup the volume before start the game.

Thanks for the reply! Although Windows volume setting certainly works but FN key is just more handy because you don't have to go back to desktop once you are in game. I hope Alienware would give us a software to adjust FN keys.

Windows 8 give you 2% increments but I don't know of any way to change it in Windows 7. It was always a peeve of mine that the min volume was to loud of a quiet room if you just barely wanted sound but the next step down was mute unless you changed it manually.

I don't think there is a way to adjust the volume control stepping. What OS are you on? I'm running 8.1 and it goes up by 2s.
