I've tried every driver below 347.52... However they seem to cause instability with windows 8.1. Can anyone help me out with modding the nvcvi.inf in other drivers to give me full support for optimus, and overclocking.

It's the wrong file you have chosen .
-
Give me your laptop id and Gpu id il modify one and attach to a post.

Could you be a little more specific in what exactly you need? Also where I would find that.
To clarify any driver below 347.09 should be okay. (but the ones from laptopvideo2go & their respective inf mods) seems to cause windows 8.1 to hang, since they mod the desktop inf. adding some weird items to install. -
It should be nvidi or something like that , also driver version 344.75 , it perfect for me with gtx 970m and win 8.1 pro.
Il confirm the inf file later -
I can see you are on Tech Inferno forums as well:

This driver modded by J95 works great for me. -

Can I confirm that you are running in Optimus mode? -
Yes, I am in Optimus with a flashed vbios 980m.
-

Just tried that driver mod...
Works perfectly
. Thanks for pointing it out
-
Glad it works for you
All the credit goes to J95 for hard work making it though
And I hope nVidia finally releases proper new drivers this week.Last edited: Mar 14, 2015 -

Sadly after further testing it gives major instability (playing games crashes the driver...) oh well I'll wait for a new driver that can be modded that also supports overclocking .. -
Perfectly stable, some cards won't hold @1200 MHz 1.0v, increase voltage offset 37.5mV/Startup task.

I flashed the primamod vbios and it works much better. With the drivers you created. I think it's running perfectly now
.

Could you show your default no overclock nvidia inspector screenshot please?
My card is rock solid in benchmarks and games @1202Mhz with the default 1V. However if I want to overclock further, say by over 200+ on base clock, driver starts crashing and I need to raise the voltage. When the voltage is raised above 1.137, card does not hold the clock (@1402) in benchmarks and starts throttling. This happens with the above driver and svl7 vbios mod even though the temps are in low 70 or high 60. At new stock @1202, 1V card never throttles. Do you know how to fix the throttling at higher clocks and voltage? -

At the default 1202 my card was crashing more times then I would like to count. With every driver I could throw at it. Then I flashed primamod vbios ( and that seemed to take care of it ) however this was simply because that it raised the stock voltage. Then I thought if I modified the clocks and voltage to match what it was on the prema bios everything should be fine. So I did that on the svl7 vbios and now finally happy with the results.

780M Comparison 3DMark11 - Click Here
Clocks & Voltage - ( Modified )
Core - + 20
Mem - + 225
Power % - 147
Voltage - 1.050
Prima vbios disables power percent modification
Slv7 vbios allows power percent modification
These maxwell cards are a little wacky in how far apart they can preform but overall I think I'm liking the performance over my 780M overclocked.Last edited: Mar 16, 2015 -
Could you run Fire Strike please?
-

I have not purchased firestrike as of yet.Last edited: Mar 17, 2015 -
I think you could download the demo version, you don't have to buy the software. I did buy it when it was cheap on steam, but before that I was using a demo version.
-
steam had a sale for it.. Was like £4... I just bought it..
Edit: The sale was a few months back...Last edited: Mar 17, 2015 -

The fight is not over! Despite AW's General Manager vision.
GeForce 347.90 MS Update
This MS update driver is was available for both Win10 TP build 10041 & Win8.1, includes Optimus fix, Miracast update, dynamic update and CUDA 7.0.31.
ManuelG referring to v347.90
More lies from Nvidia...Alienware 17/M17x & AW18/M18x (PEG) throttling implementation, constant P0 P1 switching was removed from this driver and OCing truly restored, unlike 347.88 throttling mess, proving that AW throttling is intentional 'nvlddmkm.sys' (prior to clock-block drivers & FW) totally different behavior when compared to previous version (OCing workaround) which only lasts a few hours without throttling. The fact that NV removed throttling and/or other methods to hinder performance is probably due to Win10 TP telemetry and performance issues.
Microsoft promptly pulled 347.90 MS Update catalog, included INFs: nv_whql.inf Desktop and Mobile, single OEM nvdm.inf/Dell >GA aberration installation issues< "All OEMs"...

As always are we going to have Optimus .inf's that should work with out crashing? -
I decided to test Overclocking and i stopped with theses nice results, temp gpu was max 75°c and cpu was 78°C.
CPU overclocked with oc1 profile: 43,42,41,41
GPU overclocked with 1.0375mV, clock:1313 mem:1433. Driver 347.88
Fire strike:

3Dmark11:

Played for 15mn and was very stable and a high boost of FPS.
While gaming, max temp was 73.Last edited: Mar 28, 2015
