    Alienware 17 R1 No Power No Light On Power Button

    Hello,again everyone i know i have posted alot of problem. I was changing power button cable and keyboard cable then i tried turning on laptop its not working i have chekced multiple times the wires are connected properly and power jack seems fine after testing so what could be the problem.

    Yes it was i tried with old cables it doesn't work now

    Did you do the replacement of parts with the battery removed and no charger connected to the laptop?

    Have you already removed the CMOS battery, laptop battery and charger and let it sit a bit and then try to power it up using AC only?

    Actually i don't have a battery of course i removed everything else but don't know what happened there.

    Maybe something not well seated, or upside down.

    It gave power for 5 seconds then it went off.

    5 Beeps is the CMOS battery. Just make sure that it's seated properly. Sometimes just restarting it a few times will get rid of this error.

    I don't have 5 beeps it doesn't start after pressing power button.

    Oh sorry, I read it wrong.

    It's possible that you damaged the ribbon cables. They are quite fragile so take them out and check the ends that go into the connectors. If any of the gold tips are damaged then it could be causing your issue

    I did check they are fine as new just got them today 2 pairs but same issue no power

    turns out that the motherboard has a short circuit that also fried some part of keyboard so i had to replace motherboard again
