Alienware 17 R1 Ribbon Cable

I am unable to power on the laptop due to the damaged ribbon cable that connects the palm rest assembly to the motherboard. And I having a hard time trying to find a replacement for it. Dell told me they do not sell the cable itself and I have to purchase it together with the palm rest assembly. I am not gonna pay $100++ just to buy a fkin cable. Any Alienware experts please give some advice.

 

Hello @nefariousx, these ribbons can be found for under ~20$, don't worry.
We just need more info.

Can you measure its width, length and the number of pins?
The distance between the pins (the pitch) would've helped too but if you can provide a higher quality photo of it, that will work too.

He already has the ribbon you need but it's way too long.
Make sure you get at least the same length as your current one, I advise a bit longer by at least 1cm. And make sure the orientation of both ends matches the one you have.

 

YXVW4 is the part you want, buy from Dell, eBay, aliexpress, wherever it's cheapest, I didn't check that. It's the board and ribbon but that's as close as you'll get
