    Hello,

many people have commented how with the R4 and R5 models the CCI heatsinks are inferior to SUNON ones. I started digging around trying to find differences but have come up empty handed so far.

SUNON and CCI must be equal in terms of fit, but naturally there can be differences in the vapour chamber and moulding of the copper sink. Does anyone have a photo of their SUNON so that we could compare? I can take a high res pic of my 17 R5 CCI.
    • My R5 is 8750H with a 1070. (This is a year 2018 model)
    • My part no. is AT26T002ZC0 (can't find the shorter Dell part no on the heatsink)
I am trying to find an answer to the following questions:

    1. Are R4 and R5 heatsinks physically identical between models? I.e. Can I buy a R4 heatsink for R5?
    2. Are 1070 and 1080 heatsinks physically identical? I.e. Can i install a 1080 heatsink with beefier heatpipes to a 1070 model?
I will continue googling around but if anyone has answers i would be very thankful!
