    I tried to install Ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop but it seems that the wireless card I have, Broadcom 4352, is not supported. So I am going to swap out my wireless card?
    Are there any suggestions for good wireless cards that work with linux? How will I know if a card will fit into my system? (mini pcie or m.2 ?)

    That BCM 4352 comes on AW17 R1 and that machine doesn't have an M.2.

    Here mate --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ding-the-wlan-card-in-an-alienware-18.772174/

    Plus the Killer 1103 is tri band while the Killer 1202 is dual band (waste of getting a tri-band unless you have a router that can deliver at 3x band)
    And Intel 7265ac / Killer 1525ac are M.2 formats so our machines don't support them.

    This should help... :vbthumbsup:

    I think Intel AC7265 might be M.2 only, never saw it with the older type connection. Intel AC7260 is PCI-Express half mini card though. It is a great card as well (using it in R4 right now) and has a Linux driver listed on Intel.com

    Make sure to get the revised version of 7260... 7265 is m2 only..

    Thanks for all the replies fellas!
    One more question, as long as the card is half height mini pci-e, I can use it? I thought wireless card has to be whitelisted in the BIOS, is that not so?
