Ok so tonight I unplugged my headphons and the tip apparently broke off inside the jack. I tried a couple youtube solutions to remove it (qtip bic pen tube ect) but the thing won't come out. Alienware audio still shows headphones plugged in that jack. As such I can't get any sound unless I plug it into the other headphone jack. So I am wondering if there is any way to make the system not use that specific jack. That way I can just use the other jack and or the main speakers?

Also does anyone have any other ideas on how to get that thing out?

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the tip. That thing must be in there though because the super glue hasn't worked yet. I tried letting it cure about 3 hours and no luck. I am trying one last time letting it cure for 12 hours which is the max cure time of the super glue I got.

I have had good luck getting broken jacks out by taking the whole computer apart (enough to get to the backside of the headphone jack)
Some headphone jacks have a small hole the other end you can push the broken jack out with a paper clip.

This is probably your best bet, I would grab a tear down video and be very careful. Depending on the type of material the super glue may not adhear to it very well :(

Alternatively if you go into your sound settings and disable the headphone jack , does sound not return to the external speakers?

I can't seem to find how to disable just the jack in the sound settings. It shows speakers/headphones as 1 device.

As for the teardown from this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYwPoUBMRFw around the 4 min 10 seconds mark it doesn't look like there is any way to push it out from behind. If anyone can confirm there is I will attempt the teardown but it looks like there is some sort of cover on each individual jack.

Looks like you'll have to replace the whole thing. Still under warranty? Have accidental damage?

Ok so I tore the computer apart following the video and it turns out there were indeed holes in the back side of the jack so I was able to push the jack back out. Speakers are now working as normal.

    Thanks for all the advice.

That's great, we are glad to know that you were able to take it out.
