    Alienware 17 graphics driver problem

    Hi all,

    i have an alienware17 with card R9 M290x

    When i try to update the graphics driver , it starts to install, then the screen will go black and i only see the mouse cursor. after 20 mins waiting thinking and hoping it would respond nothing happend so i had to manully restart laptop,

    its started to boot and soon as windows screen loaded it went black again.

    i had to start the laptop in safe mode and roll back the driver for it to work again,

    only thing is this driver is old 2015. and i want to update it,

    Can anyone help me please

    I never had hands on experience with AMD cards, I think first you should give a try with DDU in safemode, for windows 8 and up you'll need to run the commands and then press F8 when the machine boots to OS. Perform a DDU and shutdown then Install the new driver, But before that make sure you have a system restore point to roll back to be safe.
