I'm thinking of trading up from an Alienware M17x-R4 to an Alienware 17, but one thing I noticed is that there's no VGA port on the 17. I run a triple monitor setup (17", 24", 17", laptop display disabled), and I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience and what their advice would be in this regard. Thanks!

It depends on the configuration you select. But it's normally 2 and the laptop display.

Is there an Alienware 17 configuration that has three?

Also, I heard that a single DisplayPort could output to multiple monitors. Is this true?

With the right adapter that might be possible.
