    I got a Alienware 17X R3. It has a Nvidia 580M. i was wondering if i can call dell and get my screen upgraded to 3D.

    I'm pretty sure Dell could do it, but be prepared to put on a 2nd mortgage..

    has anyone here done it before or any idea how much it costs?
    i also got a little scratch on my screen which is bothering me. it there any way to get it changed or fixed?

    If you're still under warranty and have the accidental protection, you can call Dell and get it replaced.

    As for upgrading your screen, Dell is going to charge a premium. If all that is needed to run 3D is to just swap out the screen, then your best bet would to find someone selling a 3D screen online. Not sure if you need a new MB or anything else to run the 3D.

    @namitchouhan, Hi My name is Luis and I work for Alienware, there is definitely a way to upgrade the LCD to the 3D one, if you need any information regarding upgrades on your machine you can let us know to [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible with the information you need. Also about the scratch even with the accidental damage warranty it would be considered a cosmetic issue and would not be covered but we have some pretty good ways to serve your computer and help you putting it to work and LOOK the way it is supposed to. #IWork4AW
