    HI Guys,

I'm trying to test out overclocking my 7970m in my alienware m17x R2 machine...however I can't get afterburner to do anything over the stock core/memory clocks...

I tried enabling the unofficial overclocking options in the .cfg file but it just sets all of the clocks to zero or freezes the system...

I saw other forums with people with a similar issue but their solutions didn't work or was like try some 12.1 version of ccc.... Yet every example seems like people are using whatever the latest driver is and just running the application ?

Yes this is frustrating, i can't overclock my card as well. I am on RJ_Tech vbios.

No matter what driver i use, and try to use Afterburner, i can do $%^@. Modifying the .cfg file will not help as well, in fact, after i modify .cfg file from MSI afterburner, the system freezes completely when i try to run the application.

Everybody else seems to be happy, just not us, i think this vbios is blocking it.

Sadly, after my LCD screen got burned out because of the previous vbios, i will not risk it agian. I rather stay with stable laptop than risk the LCD for 10% more FPS

    Hi flingin,

Yeah, I flashed the rj_tech vbios because of the random white screens....it's been working fine since but can't seem to overclock....although I'm not sure if I was able to overclock with my previous vbios either.....although i didn't really try to other then maybe load the afterburner app with it.
