Still waiting for this card. Clevo and MSI already have their 8970M on deck.

Whats with Alienware being late to the party with everything this cycle?

I want to see what the 8970M will cost, or if the 9970M Solar System/South Islands archetechture card is coming out.
I'm looking to pull 720P~900P eyefinity with this M17 XR4 of mine, and am awaiting the new alienware AMD GPU...

The 8970M is a rebrand of the 7970M.

    Don't hold your breath.

Yeah but its also got the newer updated instructions set and a 50mhz clock boost,
Its small and pretty nominal but it'd be nice to see it pop up in the alienware 17 options sometime soon.

However I'm waiting for the HD9970M, that's the mGPU I've got my eyes on.

You are referring to the issues with the 7970m drivers? Am I right? :twitchy:

I don't think dell will go for ati/amd in a rush, because of the issues with drivers. Also the fact that ati/amd is going to focus more on the consoles, we might give up hope for decent support on pc front for the time being.

Although the only issue I have had with 7970 is driver crashing grand total of 2 times in almost 6 months, I am still scared by driver issues.
