    Hi Everyone,

I recently got a new alienware 17- I7 4900mq, GTX 780m and just love it . I hooked up my Asus pb278Q Wqhd monitor with it and i was surprised that i was able to play assasins creed 4 and battlefield 4 on max settings 2560X1440 without any issues as i was still getting 30 to 47 Fps which i think is superb for a single mobile GPU .

I am currently using svl's vbios for the card and overclocked it to 980mhz at 1.12V and its very stable. The very first thing when i got the machine is i repasted GPU and CPU with Gelid extreme.I have always used IC diamond and Arctic silver 5 but wanted to try this one out and its worth it . Even after overlocking I was still around 75-76c with gpu usage at 99% when playin BF4.

Overall i am very happy with the machine and getting around 8600 in 3d mark 11 with overclock . I will post some pictures up soon.

76c sounds like you have room for more if you need it. What is your vram at?

I pushed it to 160mhz with 1.12v but it wasnt stable. I thought of increasing the voltage to 1.25v but is it going to be safe to do so or 250W Psu has enough juice? I bumped my Vram to 400mhz, right now its at 2900mhz.

When I am home, I use my Late2009 iMac as the monitor for my AW17/780M. It runs everything I can throw at it at (2560x1440) at high res. Well, except for Metro:Last Light.

But the games I care about, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Skyrim, Homeworld 2 Complex, Bioshock Infinite run maxed out.

Matthew thanks for the input. At first to be honest I did not think that I would be able to run demanding games like BF4 and AC4 because of the 256 bit bandwidth but the card did really good . I will definitely push this card to its limit :)

Gou voltages need much smaller steps. 1.0v is stock, 1.1v is a high voltage.

Oh yeah its pretty awesome. After 4-5 hours of continuous AC 4 max i reached was 79c which i think is still pretty good. 780m is a powerhouse for notebook gaming.

Sup guys, a little tip for Black Flag - don't use Physx as it tanks performance with little to show for it. And drop anti-aliasing down to TXAA 2, don't bother using TXAA 4 as it over blurs the image. With 2 the image is a bit sharper but will without jaggies and much better performance.

Hey Widezu69. Great tip man .! I will disable Physx for nvidia inspector or is there any other way to disable it and i use the TXAA 2 which makes the image look very crisp specially at 2560X1440. Thanks again.

If you have the latest patch for the game, just make sure that Physx isn't enabled in the in game graphics menu.
