    Evening,

    I have a r2 and r3 both with problems..

r2 it wouldnt boot up but after removing one of the 4870 graphic cards it boots and runs perfectly.

r3 boots and runs but crashes as soon as the graphic card tries to get used ( no idea why)

1st question - would i be okay to use the working 4870 in my r3 to test and see if that works so i know if my 580m is the problem or something else?
2nd question - my 4870 that doesnt seem to work i have read online.... that oven baking for 10minutes could bring it back to life?? is this worth trying?

I think you should be able to use the 4870 into the R3 to check it boots but will wait for others to confirm compatibility. I think it should be ok but wait for confirmation.
Yes you can bake the card using this http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/385857-baking-gpu-s-oven.html guide.

    Good luck :)
