This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Alienware M17X R2 External monitor issues

    I recently got a new monitor for christmas, the past 5-6 months I haven't been using my Laptop as a Laptop but it's just to the side and instead I've been using a 19in Samsung TV as a monitor and an Razer(not alienware lol) keyboard.

    Today when I was setting it up, it was set to the right resolution but it wouldn't fill the entire monitor screen and I had these annoying black bars (around an inch) around my screen. I share the screen from my Alienware to the monitor I'm using now, the Samsung and it completely fills it without an issue.

    The monitor I got was a BenQ RL2455, 24in
