My laptop has random lock up moments.

I noticed that it happens frequently whenever I turn the webcam on or off and start up a video (from a browser).

Majority of the lock ups occur without any kind of indication the laptop's about to freeze, but several times it gave a humming noise for a second or two.

At first it was a small inconvenience, but now it's happening more frequently.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :|

    Was it display driver related?

where is that humming noise coming from? That could be teh source of your issues. Power supply? harddrive? a fan?

Also the humming noise seems to be coming from the center-back of the laptop. Right around where the power button is located.

P.S. If you guys could enlighten me as to whether or not something seems awry with the hardware, I'd also appreciate that info.

I'll try the solution posted in that thread you linked and also try the crossfire suggested here. Hopefully these will solve the lock ups and freezing :|

Thank you all for the posts, much appreciated.
