    Hi all,

Just got my laptop today, it's quite good up to now !

When i'm playing GTA with the charger in, it runs fine> But as soon as i remove the charger the Framerate drops. I have took off power saving and set it to high performance when the charger is unplugged, but nothing seems to help. If you can help me that would be great !

    Thanks !

I experienced the same thing (another game) and thought maybe the GPU is switching to iGPU which can't provide the same FPS when unplugged.
I just dont play on a battery power to solve the issue.

powermizer/powerplay just clocks the card down when on battery. Its a battery protection feature.

yea if you want high end gaming you have to keep it plugged in, or else lower the graphic setting on your game. same problem i had with skyrim, i play on high, but it would lag if im on battery unless i played on low/medium. kinda stinks but it would drain your battery dry if it didnt have that setting.

    ^^ What he said!

AFAIK, the only Alienware laptop that can game without clocking the card down while on battery is the M11x...
