Guys where do I stand with this issue I have got, this is the state of my hot-keys after about 2 months of moderate use, now this is unacceptable to me on the grounds of wear and tear.

I had that part of the laptop replaced and after a couple of weeks the exact same problem has come back to haunt me.

I always have used the sleeve when transporting my laptop around and have always taken great care with anything I own, a little OCD I guess.

Just wondering if I have a defective laptop, the only thing I can think of is a heat issue as the gfx sits directly under here or poor coating, but surely I can't be that unlucky with the replacement!? Should this warrant a replacement? I haven't had this long and after paying nearly 2 grand for it, I'm rather ****ed off.

Yeah the problem is it occurred a couple of weeks after a replacement, I don't really want to keep replacing until my warranty runs out then have to "live" with it. :(

I had mine replaced too. It will happen again if you just replace. I've been using microfiber cloths to prevent that and the keys rubbing the glass when the lid is shut especially during travel. The plastic from the keys was rubbing on the glass so much it was starting to get bad enough I had to buff it out. How geek meets Bob Villa is that? So now I lay a cloth on the keys when I close the lid and it helps prevent wear. Since then (about 3 months) the problems are gone. Try trimming your finger nails too, it's also considered a symbol of a trained lover... :p Hope that help man.
