    Hi guys

I dont really know how to be sure if the Windows 7 Pro OS i got when i bought my m17x R3 was an OEM licence sold by DELL or a full retail licence (if not OEM.. i would be interested in installing this OS into another pc of mine and put another OS in the m17xR3).

I did check the numbers of my licence (no sticker on the laptop, dont have the papers or original box) with a licence checker software and I dont see the OEM letter (ex: 11111-OEM-111111.... ). Is it enough for me to be sure i can install that Windows 7 Pro into another PC by just entering those license numbers ?

I dont want to install an new OEM licence (super cheap these days) in case i would change my CPU someday in the new pc.

How to know if my licence is OEM or retail ?

    Was the key 32KD2-K9CTF-M3DJT-4J3WC-733WD ?
If it was, then it was oem dell win7 pro.

You should always be able to install or modify computer. Im not an expert with win7+ systems but AFAIK you can just tell MS that you need to reactivate because you got faulty MoBo and blah blah, they will reactivate it. I got my Win7 activated like that after CPU change i5-430M->i7-920XM.

I totally agree with you.. and i can't stop upgrading so yeah, i should be able modify even the CPU or Mobo..

I never had to call MS in the last 35 years so i never took that as an option for my problem.

Its just that legitimate oem licence of win7 are so cheap that it could be a good way to jump on win10 for free for some of my PCs when i'll be forced to.. (and i never jump on an OS without at least a service pack release so im staying on 7 for now)
