    Nope, these steps may only become necessary when upgrading from a 60 Hz screen to 120 Hz, but even then I'd say no need to set these manually, as I have switched several times from 60 to 120 Hz screen and the 120 Hz only runs on PEG.

    I'd say stock A14 on the 120 Hz screen is ready to go.

    so heat is the biggest limitation here?

    looks like Rengsy said he also saw a code 42 (or was it 43?) on his 1080 in his m17x r4 and also his zotac zbox when using an older/lower end cpu. i guess it would just be better to stick with a proven 1070. even stock the m17x r4s run toasty, at least on the cpu. i think i have found a crappy but, not toooo crappy cooling mod that could work for many laptops ...maybe

    I've seen 1070's run 200w on the R4, the power pin outs are different on the 1080 thus why it doesnt just work when everything else is satisfied.

    Even a 150-170w 1070 will play most games maxed no AA on a 120hz panel without issue, or at least the games I had played.
