    Hello everyone...

First of all I would like to apologize if there was no need to open a new thread and secondly I would like to thank all the Notebook Review Members and Owners for taking in consideration and helping all of us.

I guess my question today is (probably for all Alienware computers), once you press the power button on your computer, an alien head pops up on the screen at first boot. I've seen in all the alienware notebooks I bought that each one had a different colour / wallpaper (either black head with red ‘edge’, or black head with blue ‘edge’, etc. etc.). Is there a way you are able to change this 'boot wallpaper screen'?

I have been on this forum for quite a while now and noted that nobody really brought this issue (not really an issue), into the discussion.

For example: I build a desktop few years back with SLi GPUs and I was able to change the boot screen through a software which you were able to install it from windows. The picture had to have certain configuration in order to be able to replace the 'bootup screen wallpaper'.

Why I brought this topic? I order an M17X R3 and forgot to change the default colour (which is blue head). I guess at the moment I am stuck with that.

Please note that I am not talking about the AlienFX colours or the windows desktop wallpaper.

Hopefully I have been cleared about this concern of mine...

Your kind attention is highly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Julian

You can change the windows boot screen yes (Starting Windows....) however without a BIOS mod your unlikely to change the BIOS POST screen (The alienhead with the loading bar) Essentially that is the same depending on which system you have will have the same thing. It replaces what you would have on desktops regarding detecting IDE devices, CPU and memory etc.

Sorry, you misunderstood. I am not talking about the windows boot screen. I am talking about the screen before entering bios or starting booting from either hdd/ssd/dvd etc. This screen is on only for few seconds and I think is 'this wallpaper' is build in the bios.

Yes you are right, you need a 'Bios mod'.
