Hi guys, this has probably been talked about in other threads, but I was wondering about the temperatures for overclocking the QX9300. I currently have it clocked at 3.2 ghz and when I try to run Battlefield 3 on it temps on two of the cores hit the low 80s...(one is 84 and another is 81)

I was just wondering if I should be worried about these temps? The other 2 cores are under 80, at mid 70s. Thanks for your replies in advance!

Oh yea, I have an Alienware M17x R1

Those temps are ok, seems to be pretty good to me, I get similar temperatures @3.06 GHz

Thanks for the reply! I was also wondering if you had any cpu spikes while playing BF3 (if you do). After overclocking the QX9300, it seems stable doing other things, but when i run BF3, it starts to spike alot, dropping my FPS way down. Wondering if there are any ways to work around this.

    Thanks!

post the full specs. Does this happen with any other game? try running furmark + prime 95 and use cpuz and gpuz to monitor clocks. It could be power issue, though I doubt it. Check this just in case and see if there are spikes with this.
