    Hello everyone.

First post here, so i'm sorry if i shouldnt really be asking for help on my first post :)

But over the past few weeks, i've been planning on getting a new Desktop or Laptop, after reading about Alienware laptops on here, i've come to a decision that i'd much rather have a laptop than a desktop at the moment.

But my main concern is, before i end up throwing ridiculous amounts of money away without knowing if certain things i want to use my laptop for will work.

Does anybody own a M17x who plays MMO's? more specifically, plan on playing Final Fantasy XIV?

Do you think it will be able to handle the game? from speaking to a few Beta testers of the game, they've said no laptop will be able to run this game smoothly (Not sure if they've read about Alienware, as they do look really impressive so far) but i'd like to ask an actual Alienware M17x Owner for his opinion.

    Thanks for reading.

    Fenbob~

I plan on using it for FFXIV.. the benchmark currently does not work on ATI CAT 10.5, but the release is 2 months away still, and the people that have used the 10.6 work around have confirmed that it does run the benchmark(albeit with low scores)

Bottom line, by release date I can't see why it would be able to almost max the game out or at least come in the middle. If my 4Gb ram GTS250 1090T desktop can manage 2K points on high, I'm sure the CF 5870's 8GB of ram, SSD and i7 720QM in my R2 will do much better (eventually)..

The only areas that are cause for concern are the ones in any MMO, the high player level areas like Jeuno in XI and the 40man RAID's there too. Anything with a 330M or better should be able to play XIV on low-medium settings just fine except for the before mentioned areas.
