    Hi All,

Recently I've been having problems playing games, where they run fine for a couple of minutes and then stutter so bad, you have to close them down.
I had been paying attention to CPU temps and GPU temps to see if running hot, however their fine.
Today I ran different software which shows an Nvidia MCP chip temp, this is idling between 85 and 90 degrees. This sounds to hot to me?
So any advice about this guys?
Oh where exactly is the MCP chip? is it on the motherboard or on the graphics cards? (currently 2 280m sli)
does this Chip interface with the gpu's and have a big impact on performace? As when I switch on the inbuilt 9400m chip it can actually run games (all be it it a little slow, no bad stutter)
I'm running all the latest Nvidia motherboard drivers and gpu drivers etc.

    Regards..
    Koki

I'm assuming the chip that you're looking for IS the 9400? If that is the case, the heatsink for the processor also connects to the onboard graphics card. It has a cheap thermal pad on there. Ive heard this happen to several. Thermal paste should do the trick, but I would wait on a second opinion.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think it's that! as the 9400 spends most of it's life switched off. the problem I think I have is with the MCP chip getting to hot, which is a Media and Communications Processor. What I cant figure out is, is this a seperate chip on the motherboard or graphics card? or for that matter maybe built into the gpu, or 9400m for example. I maybe of course completely wrong, but it's the only thing I can find on my system that looks odd, running almost twice as hot as anything else.

    Regards..
