DX9, Maxed out, PhysX off, AA off

    Av. 69 fps, Min 35

The game lags anyway randomly.. so it sucks anyway.

    specs
    cpu i7 2.2 (3.1 turbo)
    ram 8gb
    hdd ssd
    vid 560m
    win7 64

Hello everyone. I have installed the latest vid drivers from oct. When trying to run this game i get horrible fps. i have everything maxed out with d11 activated and i get 9fps. when i turn off dx11 but keep all settings maxed at 1080p i get around 15fps during the benchmark run. my aurora desktop with 2 gtx 260's in sli runs this game with same settings (no dx11) smooth.

can anyone who playes this with the 560m tell me if these numbers are around normal?

    thank you

Yeah. First of all, Arkham city is buggy and not optimised. Second of all you haven't got the best of GPUs.

Still though, I'd have though that you could run it at least with DX9 deactivated to I'm thinking you are running it on the iGPU. Whitelist your games, go into the Nvidia Control Panel and set Arkham City to use the dedicated GPU.

Thank you for the quick reply. so i tried whitelisting the game with same results. I next updated to that beta 290 driver and wow what a difference!! max fps went to 61 with an average of 33! i will try turning back on the dx11 next and see what improvement there is. thanks again!

DX11 is still broken for some ppl. The patch didn't fix everyone's DX11 performance issues yet.

yup with dx11 on and all maxed I only get 16fpsmax with the 290 beta drivers... It still looks great on dx9 and runs wonderful so I'll just play it that way

It's a console port and considering that non of the consoles utilize dx11.... Yeah go figure.... Doesn't mean the game is bad though and that running on DX9 is bad either... But considering the majority payed a discounted price for this game I wouldn't expect the best of DX 11 performance of this title, had it done so it would have been my game of the year though, still a good second best or runner up.

Nice game, it makes you say.... "i...am...batmaaaaan!" :D

it plays maxed out (but dx9) with only one 6970. CF does work but the scaling is a little bit...poor.. Both cards get loaded at 50 - 60 %, no real difference with it active or inactive.

Ah and catwoman.... she's hot! :D

On DX 9, I feel like i'm playing on PS3. Arkham city infact looks better on PS3.

With PhysX on for nvidia users, there is a greater sense of atmosphere. It is much better with the fog and the paper and the leaves. Plus the game is great fun despite the buggy graphics. I can max out with DX11 and it be playable and looks great so I still think it is worth it.

i tried forcing the phsyx option on.....with my amd card ofcourse.

FPS drops a little (with more details added) but the bad optimization really shows.

I'm running it on very high (DX11 features off because I can't notice the difference, FXAA High and motion blur off because I hate it) and it's pretty much a constant 60 FPS - average 59 on benchmark - Vsync on... no buggy graphics whatsoever... How is it unoptimized? The Unreal engine always runs great on PCs and it looks facking amazing

Looks better on PS3? You mad bro?

PhysX is broken too on this game, my fps goes from av. 69 to av. 30 with PhysX high. Readed somewhere developers used the old SKD of PhysX so that's why we get so bad performance w/PhysX. Tests show the same thing with a dedicated GTX 280 (desktop) for PhysX only. The bad thing about this game, I have good freame rates, but it lags sometimes, which make the game unplayable or not gives the best experience.. So for me, No PhysX, no AA (can't see any difference when AA is on!).

i try Batman AA benchmark with these settings
Directx 9 (prefer dx9 because i don't see much visual gain in dx11)
    AA : FXAA (high)
    detail level : extreme
    all Yes
    no physX

    here are my results :

    Res_1920x1080_
    min 63
    max 110
    average 93

    Res_1600x900_
    min 69
    max 146
    average 118

I'm on dell driver with 12.1 catalyst, because of high CPU usage i disable turbo boost in throttlestop and OC GPU to 850/1200
