Alienware M17x Nvidia 260M + drivers 341.74 INF mod.

Hi, as title say i have an M17x with the nvidia 260M, recently after i re-installed windows 7 i noticed that my old nvidia modded drivers (314.22) not working anymore and i still don't know why. After i spent 8hrs yesterday trying to find this, i give up and re-installed the stock drivers from dell site which they sucks :\. With the .inf mod the 314.22 worked fine. I started to search another possible drivers update for my old GPU and i found someone had the 341.74 one without any issues. Could someone help me to install this version of drivers please? I don't any knowledge with laptop2go site but i know someone here could help me. Will be realy realy realy appreciated

Hi, rly thanks for your suggestion. I went in that thread and i found realy helpful the guide. I did everything that korodic showed.I installed the 341.74 driver with both GPU Enabled on the BIOS.

Hybrid: Enable
Integraded: Enable

PCI/2: Disable
Aspm: Disable

Once i rebooted the device manager show:
Nvidia 9400m
Nvidia 260m

Which the past drivers (314.22) since 1 month won't show me

The reason why i choose 314.22 and 341.74 it's by people feedback only. People said they are stable. Indeed i never ever find any problem with the 314.22 one. Now I have another problem :\ i need to set Disable - Disable on GPU's in the BIOS because like this i'm able to play an online game, otherwise i have like 5-10 fps in game by 9400M fault. In the past i used to play with this Disable options, had no problem so far. With this drivers i can not able to play anymore because when i go to set both GPU on disable mod once rebooted the screen starting to flickering, green - red - grey lines and even full screen too. Anyone could suggest me a fix? Maybe should i test another Nvidia driver version like the past i used? If yes, which one would be the best stable for a 260M one?

 

Ok i have a big issues i just noticed even without any driver the situation looks complicated:
Disable - Disable - (it mean 260m running on)


On the other side when i go to enable both GPU it looks normal but i can't play with the 9400m running, because the game doesn't support the integrated graphic.

When i install the normal stock drivers (everytime with both GPU enable) the situation still the same as i showed. If they are stock or .inf mod file doesn't matter. I want say also i opened and cleaned the pc before all this situation.

Something strange happened between, i took a screen when the color was display strange the screenshot dosn't show any issues.....I don't know realy what is going on. Here is the screen.


Edit: Now i'v tried to install stock dell drivers with Disable - Disable just for see if there is some difference. The difference is: Once i enable both gpu after Disable - Disable driver install it looks with strange colours, if i fn+f7 and switch into only 9400m GPU looks normal if i switch into 260m+9400m looks with colours strange....So i guess there is something weird with 260M one.

 

Nevermind after the 12th try after i re-setted the GPU it fixed. Dunno why at the 12th time and not at the 1-2nd try.....Still everything come back as normal.
