I bought an Alienware M17x (SPECS- CrossfireX mobility 5870's, intel i7 920XM, 1TB.) laptop a few weeks ago, hoping it'll be able to play smoothly on Crysis max settings, or on any other game.. When it arrived I made sure the power mode is on High Performance, and if the CrossfireX in the Catalyst is enabled. After a few minutes of checking all these things I installed Crysis to check the laptop's performance, when Crysis finished installing I started the game, set the settings to max, without any AA, and started playing, as I started playing I was kinda shocked as I saw the FPS barely reaches to 14.. I don't really know what's the problem, I talked to the Dell support a few times, but they weren't so helpfull..
My brother bought a M17x laptop with CrossfireX mobility 4870's and intel core i7 780QM, I installed Crysis on his laptop, set the settings to Max, and compared the performance between his laptop to mine.. his FPS was like 30-35, mine was 12-15.. I also compared his laptop to my laptop on Global Agenda (A mmorpg), and still, his performance is MUCH better than mine..
I dont really know what's the problem guys, I expected a pretty good laptop..
So, if you have any solutions or ideas that you think they can help me, go ahead, I appreciate every solution.
Thank you for your time. And sorry about my english.

Make sure the stealthmode of OFF - The indicator light is the very last light on the touch button pannels.

    Dimmer light = Stealthmode OFF
Slightly brighter light = Stealthmode ON.

You want this to be OFF.

Hey... Have a small question about a annoying problem.. I have some games i just cant get the AA to work properly.. I just bought mafia 2 and i have the exact same problem as in bad company 2.. Set everything to max, and i still got bad egdes in corners, wires and so on.. Some things looks good other things not.. Tried every settings i can booth in ccc and in the game but no change.. I got dell orginal ( think it is 10.1) driver installed.. Had this issue with my old R1 with 4870 to so i thought it had to look like this. But a friend of mine have a laptop with a 4650 and it lookes much better than mine.. Also had this with L4d 2 but after fixing alot with the settings it became perfect.. But its a no go for these two games.. So is this called AA, Antilaising.. And can this be fixed with dells new beta.. I have tested 10.7 and the problem is still there with that one to.. Thankfull for help

If stealth mode is off then try running ThrottleStop and check off the Log File option so you can monitor your CPU's performance while gaming. Lots of laptops have CPU throttling issues so this is always a good place to start testing. Post a Log File to Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire or send it my way so I can have a look.
