What is the card model? AMD or Nvidia? and specs of the card. Also how long has it been used.

It's an AMD 5870 from an MSI GX 660R . The seller has offered me a 30 day warranty but I don't want to bother with the hassle of buying it and returning it if it doesn't work the Card is about 3 years old and is working . I attached an Image of the card because it's a big photo .

The vBios flash could indeed brick it, i belive somebody already tried that and needed to have the bios chip replaced afterwards.
I have 1 4870M and 1 5870M (Both dell with latest vBios) completly compatibile with R1 if you want.

Dont know if this helps but I installed a 5870m (pretty shure it was a MSI model) in my M17x R3 and it worked.
P.S.: my card was red in color though.

Nope, MSI & Clevo cards are green
    Dell cards are red
ASUS cards are green but some weird width, and fit only into asus laptops.

You are right on the card colours . The funny thing about the funky asus sizes is the fact normal MXM cards work in the slot .

Basically only red and green exist afaik; maybe toshiba has blue card, but i've never bothered to look coz toshiba cards normally only work in toshibas...
Yeah just not the other way around :p although i've seen some1 cut some metal away and put asus card in M17x R2, got video on screen, but cooling and everything was a big problem :p

It could cause issues, it's better to get the DELL version of the card.
