Have you checked that your Video cable had good connection after the update?
Its the most "difficult" cable to connect when assembling.

    Fans are fixed in HWinfo.

    i had same problems
you have to flash the card with a clevo non-enduro vbios, if you keep working on current you may damage your screen - so BE CAREFUL AND FLASH ASAP

    Download 7970 rar

credits for the vbios goes to @Nospheratu

    Turn off m17xr2.
Connect with a vga cable the vga port of m17xr2 to a lcd panel.
Then boot up as per normal.
White bleach will then disappear and disconnect the vga cable from external lcd monitor and voila m17xr2 will be back to normal viewing.
Then do not turn off computer but close the lid. Then open lid and windows is now available nicenfast. This way you save monitor on m17xr2 from early failure.

To me this has worked since I got the 7970m. My 7970m is v1.1 2G. Other have later revision(v1.2) which works with flingin's bios. My card does not work with the enduro off bios therefore windows cannot load drivers for it.
d3m0ny0 can I ask what revision your 7970m is? Look for sticker under 7970m card.

    TIA

what card are you using (clevo or dell)?

i think the clevo cards does not play well with slv7's vbios. nospheratu's vbios is recomended for clevo.

In this thread can i ask another VBIOS question.*
I cant get to it now since im not home, but what kind of VBIOS is used?
From what ive seen, I think its a DIL 8 pin package towards the side of the card, but what is the name and number for it?
Is that the same type regardless if it is DELL or CLEVO card meaning if you know your way around BIOS programming and soldering iron you can make a CLEVO card from a DELL card and visa versa?
And does anyone know if the BIOS is the main difference?
Guess its possible to also buy a 022 card and downgrade it by soldering a new BIOS into the card.

From where u bought it (your ebay account /and receipt on mail) you will be able to see if its dell, msi, clevo card since its obviously upgrademonkey or upgradeyourlaptop (that i guess is eurocom) and they normally both show in the add where its originally ment to be used.

    Examle:
CLEVO P150HM/P151HM VGA UPGRADE KIT; HD7970M 2GB; MXM 3.0b; with ENDURO DISABLED, eurocom (clevo)
    Alienware AMD HD DELL 7970M 2GB GDDR5 -for M15x, M17x , M18x ,upgrade monkey (dell)
