    Alienware M17x R2 Coffee Spillage :(

    Hey everyone,

    New here just joined to ask a few questions i spilled coffee on my alienware mx17 R2 it would not turn on stayed black screen and only 1 fan worked. So i opened up the laptop cleaned every part and left it dry, it now runs perfect but heres the problems left.

    1:Keyboard 3-6 keys dont work.
    2:Webcam only works sometimes on satrt up i think this is due to coffee on the lead nothing to do with screen.

    Anyone know where i might get these parts.

    The R2 Keyboard is plenty on eBay. They go around $40-$80 USD. The Webcam might be a lot harder to acquire since it requires you to literally open up the LCD Assembly though that glass to get to it. I think eBay again has modules for sale but getting it swapped might be a pain in the behind so to speak.

    it will be a lot easier to just get another external usb webcam.

    yea i ordered the keyboard from ebay so hopefully everything goes ok now and no more problems :( thanks for all the help guys!.
