    Hello all,

I've got an Alienware M17x R2 and I'm trying to work out why two graphics cards I have won't post at all.

    They are a GTX 580m & a ATI 6870m.

Basically what they are both doing once installed is that they are causing the GPU fan to spin at top speed and nothing displays, no post and also no flashing LED's to tell me what error is occuring.
Could this be a bad vbios flash (Previous owners) or are these cards both totally f**ked now? :)

    Any ideas?

Have you tested them on another system? Were the working before you got them to the R2?

Do any cards work in your system. What systems are the cards from?

I have a M17x r2 and a 580m, but I cant get my monitor working either. But I can hook it up to a external monitor and it works great. Try and hook it up to a external monitor and see if you can see anything.
