Hi, im new in this forum but i have read a lot of threads to solve previous issues with my laptop, thanks for that c:
But there is a problem i have been carrying since a while, its not the big deal because i likely use my laptop as a desktop one, but whenever i unplug my laptop, it slows down a LOT, i mean, i cant run any game without it freezes a lot, it stop recognizing the VGA and HDMI port and the "All CPU Meter" says it is at 100% of usage without doing anything... I have read a lot of threads with things like this and all they say is: "Check the Power Options to say: Always On", i have it on "Full Perfomance" in Power Options, Catalist Control Center says "Best Perfomance" and i maximized all in the Command Center, it is getting on my nerves because i have to carry the charger wherever i go.
I think the important specs i must say are:
Intel Core i5 M520 @ 2.40GHz
AMD ATI Radeon HD 5870
If you guys have a solution i would be very grateful, and its not something that is putting a stop on my life, but is annoying sometimes.
And sorry for my bad english, im on it![]()

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Uhh all gigantic Alienwares that don't support graphics switching to a lower power integrated card is going to have horrid throttling issues. The M17xR2 does not support switchable graphics, so it throttles the card down to prevent damage to your battery. The R2 was never meant to be used without the adapter. And especially gaming, no way it would ever run on battery. I think my R2 would last like 10-15 mins gaming..

Hi and your right this place is amazing for information and how to. NBR was the site I used to research the R2 before I bought it. Anyway, the R2 unfortunately is not meant to be used without its AC adapter as Tsunade_Hime stated. The only other thing I can think of is changing the advanced power options and going through each one individually and adjusting them to be either at "100%" or never turn off. You may get a little boost but once that battery starts to lose power the system will begin turning things off to prevent damage or data loss. Also I would try and not let your battery get to low, the more it has to charge from empty (or close to it), you begin to lose its retention value. Hope it helps and good luck.
