So this is what basically happened so far with my laptop. My brother bought the laptop, 2014 model refurbished, and it didn't have any problems since then. Around 2-3 months ago, the laptop started to shut down suddenly after 25-30 minutes of use. Note that after the shut down, it does not turn back on and the power button light turns off as well. My tech friends tried to help me but most the tests failed. Updating the laptop did not fix the problem. Nor did factory resetting the laptop. I did a software check using the F12 pop up thing. Everything is working well, which leads me to expect that it's either windows being corrupted or something else. Another side note, the laptop had been upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8, then to windows 10. All help is welcomed. ❤️

we're probably going to need more info to give you much assistance. what are you doing when it shuts down? gaming? browsing?

specs are a good thing to list off so we know what hardware were dealing with.

does it blue screen at all or just out right die? nothing happens when you try to power back up at all? how long does that last, minutes , hours?

It does not blue screen and it goes out no matter if I'm browsing or gaming. I will get the specs and forward them soon. And I would leave the laptop alone when it suddenly shut down.

Another side note, the laptop would function normally when it shuts down.

First thing I would probably check to rule out is the temperatures. Download a program like HWINFO or CPU-Z and GPU-Z and watch your temps. If you are hitting thermal overload the machine will shut off to protect itself. If windows was corrupted I would expect to see a blue screen message before the shut down.

    These are the specs [IMG]

And I currently use a program called CAM which monitors fan temperatures but the fans will go to 80 degrees Celsius, but it's only for gaming. I left the laptop out to update and it shut down 25-30 minutes with a constant temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. So regardless it shuts down in 25-30 minutes in.
