Hello to all members, i'm Christian from Italy and this is my first post.
I would like to thanks the forums to give me a chance to be here with you.
I would like to exccuse me in advance for my poor english, hope you will understand what i write.

    I upgraded my Alienware m17x r2 from a xfire of 5870m to a 7970m
No problem with scree / audio but a problem when the battery is full
    I explain:

if i bench with heaven 3.0 or i play games and the battery is charging my fps are high but when the battery is full at 100% fps goes down to 29 max 35
It seems that when the battery is full that the laptop pass to battery supply.
From CCC i set high performance on battery and connected to power supply
from control panel i have high plan settings and max performance to all.

So i don't understand why when battery is full FPS going down.

    Thank you for the help

    Christian

Try using the laptop plugged in without battery.

Have you tried the laptop just on battery power with the power cable unplugged?

And have you tried disabling the battery charging manually with Fn+F2?

I'm not positive, but I think that this is the driver you're looking for:
    Alienware OSD Application, v.2.21, A03
