    hey,

I have a few questions, ive had my alienware for about a month now, ive noticed a few things.

Firstly, when playing videos (dvd, youtube, etc) sometimes the speakers make a wierd noise, i cant really describe it, its almost like the speakers dont know what to do n make a weird sound?

Sometimes the internet doesnt work and i have to disconnect n connect the internet again for it to work (this could be my internet but it works on my other computer)?

The caps-lock, num-lock and scroll-lock, symbols dont light up, but the little light saying there one does, is this something i could sort out or would i have to phone dell up?

and lastly not a problem just a question, what can i do to improve battery life, as i only get around 2 hours on a full battery? its just handy to have longer battery life.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Spec (if it helps)

    i7-2760QM
    16GB 1333mhz
    GTX 580M
    750GB 7200RPM
    3D

with 3d u dont have Optimus. so thats really a downer if ur trying to save battery, as with the 3D model u dont have an inbuilt graphic card to switch to.

My guess is turning off wifi, lowering brightness, and decreasing the visual effects of windows 7.

do you get that weird noise if you use headphones?

which wireless card do you have?

Regarding the lights, so if you click capslock, it works but the light doesn't light up?

Galbatrox hit the nail on the head with the battery life...not much you can do. Optimus is disabled because you have 3D so you're using the 580m at all times and it sucks power even when in low power profile

ive had the weird noise svery rarely while useing headphone but not nearly as often as without them.

also i have the killer wireless card,

when i press caps lock, a little dot lights up just above the caps-lock symbol, but the symbol its self isnt lit up at all, i dont know if its ment to or not though, so the lights could be completely fine.

I just received my Alienware 2 weeks ago and none of the issues here...

As SlickDude said, your caps lock are all working properly. Very descrete way of notifying us users.

Uninstall your sound drivers and download the ones from dell support site. I used those and have zero problems.

Same goes for the wifi card. I too have the killer and using driver 9.2.0.320 and atheros driver 1.0.0.36

No issues here. Maybe try those drivers to see if it helps your issues?
