    Hi guys,

Hope you can help. For some reason my partners Alienware M17x R4 is constantly going flat, it doesn't matter if she leaves it in hibernation, standby or even a full shut down after several days of it being left when she goes to use it the battery is flat!

I can't get my head round what is causing the drain? I've looked through the BIOS and can't see nothing wrong there, I even turned off powershare on the USB port but that made no difference (she never used this feature anyways)

I've recently done a refresh of Windows 8.1 on her laptop with the latest drivers that were available. The only thing I have done differently is I recently installed two Samsung EVO 840 in Raid, but not quite sure how the SSD's can be drawing power even after a full shut down.

Battery wear is about 90 odd perfect so that looks good also.

    Help? Thoughts?

90% battery wear is actually very high. Or you mean only 10% has been worn out?

    Hi L_Porras,

Yeah it's 10% worn, so it's at 90% health so to be speak. No windows error either saying there is an issue with the battery either.

    Hi Porras,

No battery cables that im aware of as the R4 has the detachable battery and just slots into place.

Indeed... Come on porras you should know this :p

OP, I think something is definetly strange here... Also is battery wear 90% or your battery has 90% of it's capacity left? If the wear is 90%, your battery is good as gone.. Can you please install BatteryBar and confirm this?

I have no idea why I said cables. LOL I meant pins... :p My bad. Or I could have gotten confused with other models. IDK. :p

I believe it says it has 90% health left.
