Okay bad news. The hard drive definitely must have failed because I've tried switching bays and even doing the tapping to but to no avail, still doesn't work. I guess I'll just update you guys when I buy an SSD and HDD drives to get my laptop up and running. In another note, do you think I should install what Windows... 7 Ultimate or 8? Because I've already lost the CD Windows installer of my Alienware.

Oh and follow up, I just did the warranty transfer in Dell and I'm just waiting for it to be approved. I also messaged 2 of the possible tech support of Dell for Home Users here in the Philippines and I just hope they entertain me. Oh and I wouldn't mind a freaking replacement of my 500GB 7200RPM HDD. =))

Up to yourself, I have 8 and I like it, but thats because I kind of skipped vista and 7 (had a mac) now back to pc. You should be able to use your windows 7 key even if you lost the CDs, you can download the windows 7 clean DVD installer if you need it.

In my opinion Windows 8 is really good but I just don't like the interface that much.. I'm not a fan of full screen apps so it's kind of annoying every now and then. On the other hand, it's got some cool features like a new hybrid power setting that will make your pc boot a lot faster as it won't actually ever turn it off unless you force it by creating a shutdown button, or the fact that it can "automatically encrypt" info transferred to external drives which makes it able to virtually convert a 1tb drive into a 4tb drive. As deniz says, it's up to you :)

Here are common setbacks showing up on some platforms when upgrading to Windows 8

So anyway, all I need to do now is get a copy of my Windows 7 Home Premium from the post of DDDenniZZZ How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc | PCWorld
here and then I'm all set right? I can use my laptop again?

EDIT: Oh follow up... From his link, do you think I can install the Windows 7 Home Premium through a USB with the Alienware M17x R4? I'm not sure if it boots through that and I would actually would love some help. I miss using my laptop. :|
