Up to yourself, I have 8 and I like it, but thats because I kind of skipped vista and 7 (had a mac) now back to pc. You should be able to use your windows 7 key even if you lost the CDs, you can download the windows 7 clean DVD installer if you need it.

In my opinion Windows 8 is really good but I just don't like the interface that much.. I'm not a fan of full screen apps so it's kind of annoying every now and then. On the other hand, it's got some cool features like a new hybrid power setting that will make your pc boot a lot faster as it won't actually ever turn it off unless you force it by creating a shutdown button, or the fact that it can "automatically encrypt" info transferred to external drives which makes it able to virtually convert a 1tb drive into a 4tb drive. EDIT: Oh follow up... From his link, do you think I can install the Windows 7 Home Premium through a USB with the Alienware M17x R4? I'm not sure if it boots through that and I would actually would love some help. I miss using my laptop. :| -
