I do not know a lot about computers, looking for some advice / help

I owned my m17x R4 for about three months, then I got my first blue screen. Kept happening to the point where it would blue screen 5 minuets after turning it on (and kept doing it)
Called Dell / Alienware, and the tech support guy told me while booting the computer (after i showed them a picture of the Blue Screen), press control I (i), and follow his steps to disable something.

I am assuming he disabled what was in this picture:

It did stop the blue screening issue, but now my computer boots much slower, and games run at lower FPS. Anyone know what this could be?

Basically, you disabled the caching SSD that was configured in raid 0 by Intel Rapid Response Technology software. And yes, your boot up time will definitely be slower because you disabled the caching SSD that was accelerating the speed of your mechanical drive. FPS could be affected too. These slowdowns are caused by you disabling the SSD so yes, the slowdowns are normal.

What isn't normal are the blue screens you were getting before this disabling the SSD...One possibility is that the caching SSD in your machine that you just disabled has failed. That requires a replacement. Or it could simply be software based.

Unfortunately, I'm not an expert either . But either way, we're going to need more info to get to the root of the problem. Do you have a picture of the blue screen error you were getting? Then maybe some of the tech junkies can help some more.

My limited knowledge says that that IS a drive issue. If you find and install 'whocrashed' it will analyse the log files and give better information.

You should call dell back and make sure he didn't close the call. Turning off the cache drive is not an acceptable fix - just a diagnostic step.

    Good Luck.

Edit: go into disk manager and see if the cache drive shows up there. It should be there as just an 'ordinary' drive. If it is not there then it has failed - easy fix; send me an engineer with the part :D

Yep, most likely a failed drive.

Call up Dell before your warranty ends and they'll send a technician to your house to replace your failed drive.

The guy at Dell INSISTED there was nothing wrong, or broken. He told me everything was working fine. He said My RAID was disabled, and can only be re enabled by re installing Windows, he said i can only change / enable it when I'm installing windows.
Can anyone confirm this? I really do not want to loose all my files again.

Nah, not necessarily true. If windows was installed to dell default then the correct drivers are already there. You just turn it on. But didn't they disable it? Just call in and tell them you want it back to the correct configuration. If they have to reinstall windows then they can send an engineer. Everything is not working fine, you have no cache drive and it should have one

If you see this in device manager then you can safely turn it on:
