    Hi all.

I'm having a bad issue. My keyboard is extremely jumpy. When I start typing something, the mouse cursor jumps to a random spot in the sentence I already typed! It does it randomly and doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason.

Can anyone help me here? I'd love to figure this out because it's very annoying. It's an Alienware M17x R4 that's a few years old, but has been extremely babied for its entire life, and most of the time I had a USB keyboard installed and didn't even use the laptop keyboard.

    Any ideas?

Hi, try changing the touchpad settings in alien command centre. The is a setting specifically for this reason, which makes it less sensitive to the palm touch. When I get back home, I will look up the exact name for that setting.

Thanks, I will try that! Although my hands are usually not even touching the trackpad, but I imagine there could be some sort of glitch in there. Typing this and so far, so good! Thank you!

Update - It has fixed the issue! Thanks so much. Even though my palm wasn't actually hitting the trackpad or whatever, it was so sensitive that it caused the jumpiness. Since I completely disabled the feature, the keyboard works perfectly now. Thanks again! :)

    Hello again,
The issue is back in full force. I can barely type a sentence without some crazy jumpiness happening. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

It is worth a try to uninstall and re-install the touchpad drivers.

    The issue remains. :(

It's really annoying, because I'll be typing something and then the entire sentence I just typed gets selected and deleted in a split second.

Umgh maybe it's a hardware fault with keyboard? I would try replacing the keyboard+keyboard connector to motherboard...
