Greetings NBR,

Yeah, count me as one of Alienware's happy customers. I bought a M17x R3 about a year ago, and I've been happy with it. I wish the heat management was a lot better, but hey that's life.
-
Yup, I had some driver issues at first but afterwards I'm pretty happy. Not with the Seagate Momentus XT 750 though! My first one failed, and my second one which I bought seems to be failing too. Just ordered a regular WD Scorpio Black because I'm tired of this drama....

Truly a Flipside post, it's really hard to find people commenting for a good service or product.
Thanks Appledrink for taking the time to do this, and welcome to the club! -
Count me in. My R3 is fast approaching 2 years old and im yet to have a factory fitted failure, touch wood.
-
I received my R4 sometime in June last year....and I havent had any major issues. Only recently my keyboard alphabet was acting up..I had to remove the cap and fiddle to get it working again..but eventually got the keyboard replaced with a perfectly brand new one.
I have opened the machine up several times during the course of these 8 months. Installed a Killer Card 1103, installed a Dell Bluetooth 380 and swapped lid cover with the previous R3 etc...
Its a sturdy system. Once it took a stumble but it was in the Alienware Backpack so it was saved by it.
Technical hardware failure is one thing and I guess how we take care of it is another. -
This is definitely not flip side enough...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my M17x it is my precious now. Running games at 1 million fps on a BEAUTIFUL 120Hz screen (people who say oh 120Hz sucks because its not an IPS panel blah blah colors.. are total morons).
And not only this, even with a couple blue screens and a few random issues... I could not be ANY happier. I have never in my life experienced gaming at this level, it is next level.
ALIENWARE FOR LIFE!great thread! Glad everyone is loving their beast

I've been running too many tests to get very far in so I am jealous
-
Crysis 3 beta was great but I don't think I want to dish out a full game's price on it /:
Gonna be spending that on Tomb Raiderwhich looks gameplay wise, story wise, and GRAPHICALLY insane!

Oh crysis 3 is worth the purchase, I have been having fun even with the testing

This machine is fine--acceptable fan noise and speakers, decent display, cool touch surfaces, comfortable keyboard and touchpad (though my touchpad buttons have sunk in), much helpful software, 7970m GPU. I'm satisfied with it.

Alienwares are very balanced machines and the propper cooling in the larger systems avoids many issues.
-
looking forward to company of heroes 3....... My M17x r4 beast should nom nom nom that....
-
also loving my alienware r4. I actually wish that I would have gotten the 120hz screen but oh well, next time I know!
I really like being able to take such a powerhouse with me when I go places. At home I love my desktop but the portability of this machine can't be beat for the power that it packs. -
Even though i'm currently having LCD problems with my Alienware M17x R4,(called technical support and they will be sending out a new LCD) It's by far the best machine i have ever owned and i'm extremely happy with it. It runs like a beast and i don't really have any complains about it, if you do experience a problem just call technical support and it should be handled.

I've never had any problems when I've contacted customer service on either My Aurora or M17X. The CS I got when i called in on the desktop is actually why I bought the M17X and recommend the M14X that my family member just purchased. I wish more larger business cared as much about they're customers.
