    Hi,

This is my first time using this forum and I've jumped on to get some help. Occasionally I'm having problems with my alienware m17x r4 when returning to it after leaving it running open for half an hour or so, or, when I open the laptop while its been on in sleep mode. The screen is back-lit but is totally unresponsive (black) to my commands and the only way I can solve the problem is by crashing it.

I was hoping someone could shed some light if this is normal or not and what might be wrong.

According to all my system and tests and scans its fine and dell technitians don't know whats wrong exactly, they just replaced the screen and the fans for some reason...

Any help would be appreciated :)

Sounds like a software/driver issue to me. It's quite common for machines not setup right to not recover from sleep properly. I suggest looking for windows help for the issue on Google.
