Hey,

I am not proud to join "WD HDD Issue with Alienware M17x" club.

I have 1 TB External WD HDD.

I searched online and found WD SES Drives.. its not installing in my win 8.1 64 Bit.. its installing but still my lap fails to recognize..

i cant seem to find installed files which shud be in c:\program files \western digital\SES Drive

there is no folder..

hdd works well in other machines and works if i conenct via usb 2.0 hub in my lap... doesnt works if i connect directly.

any help is greatly appreciated!

Have you tried restoring your PC using AlienRespawn?

I don't believe there are any USB drivers to install on Windows 8. Otherwise, I'd recommend reinstalling those.
