I am new to this and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. So please be patient and walk me through as if I was a 5 year old boy.

I just purchased an Alienware M17x R and a Netgear Push 2 TV 2000. Here is the link of the store I bought it from:
Dell Computer Corp AM17XR3-6579STB Alienware M17x 17.3" Notebook PC - Stealth in PC Notebook Computers | JR.com

So I sat down and tried connecting the Push2TV to my new laptop to no resolve. I called Dell and was on the phone with them for 6 1/2 hours. I am drained and frustrated!

The reps in India kept on dropping the call and finally I ended up in Costa Rica. Where the rep told me that I do not have the necessary software and or hardware to use the push 2 tv. I went nuts!

I went to Intel and downloaded the WIDI. and it got stuck after that.

Now, my laptop sees the netgear PTV 2000 but it connects for 2 sec. and then disconnects. The rep in Costa Rica tells me I need a Sibean card etc.. and it would cost me $800....I mean WHAT?!?!! Are they nuts?

I read the closed thread concerning these issues but I did not understand anything.

I am willing to even call someone from this forum is they can walk me through it. I am losing my mind here.

    Please help!

    I thank you in advance.

Wait did you get the Push2TV bundled with the M17x R3 or separate? You for WirelessHD you actually do need an extra module installed in your system. If your system doesn't come with one, it wouldn't work. Intel WIDI is different and I have no experience with it. Sorry

No, the laptop and the Netgear are 2 saperate items....So, if I do need something, what would it be? What is my laptop missing in order for it to function?

I'm not sure. If the Intel WiDi software picks it up you may not need anything. You have to switch your graphics to integrated graphics. This can be done by pressing fn+f7. If you don't know what this is, then you probably should have done some research before buying.

AW rep? Where have you been during all our efforts to try and get rid of the 580m throttling?!

Widezu, FedericoH is posting Alienware level 3 articles weekly in the Alienware section and i'm updating the OP of this thread as soon as they are available.

Lots of helpful info if you ask me.
