I've been reading quite a few horror stories from Alienware owners who have upgraded to Windows 10 so I'm a bit reluctant to try my luck. I was curious if anyone who had successfully upgraded now has working LED lights on their keyboards? When I upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 the lights stopped working and I haven't had any luck fixing them. My understand is that the problem is coming from Windows 7. If I upgrade to Windows 10 will the keyboard lights work again?

Well it's not really a horror story if you're using only stock components. I was using Win10 since the first tech preview without a single issue. Zero driver issues and the Alien CC was working fine and keyboards lights as well.

Things get more complicated if you upgrade for example the GPU. In my case I upgraded to a 980m. Optimus simply cannot work in Windows 10. As for dedicated many here will recommend you don't even give it a try as there is a risk you will brick your laptop screen. It has been linked most of the time to an overclocking tool called PrecisionX so if you don't use it, you "should" be fine.
