    Alienware M17x with external LCD and closed lid. Is it safety?

    Hello guys!

    I just wondering to know is it safety to use my M17x with closed lid? May the heat cause some damage to to the display block? Or maybe it can cause some system overheating?
    Any experience?
    I just know that MacBook users often experience such problems and what about our beasts?

    Never heard of any problems. I do this often - the display turns off when you close the screen, and there is very little heat from the keyboard area.

    Yup you should be fine as there isn't an air intake for the fans in the keyboard area like the asus g73. ;)

    no problems here, use mine with external monitor and closed lid quite often. i do however open it when im gaming.
