I have been having alot of problems went to other sites and no luck.
First one is anytime im using the computer and ac adapter slips of the laptop it freezes, so i manually shut it off and then the next time i try to log in it stays black right before login screen comes up.( i have to fix this by doing system restore in safe mode)
2nd problem is the computer wont restart or shutdown through start i have to shut it off by holding the power button.(this doesn't happen when i have the video driver uninstalled)
I think this all started when i installed my Video driver after getting windows 7. Even though i can play games like Portal2 fine.

    Any help appreciated.

if this all started after installing the vid drivers, have you tried reinstalling to another version of drivers or even reinstalling the same drivers to see if it takes it properly this time?

Yes i uninstalled and installed driver from dell 3 times and the one from ati 2 times. Also the blackscreen issue didn't happen right away it came later but if i uninstall teh video driver the laptop shutsdown properly.

i think that something is wrong with the configuration of your video driver. Maybe remnants remain from the previous driver so it wasn't cleaned up properly when you installed the next one. I suggest you try this for a 100% clean install.

5.at last reboot again and intall driver normally from setup!!!

Give it a try...but when you uninstall the driver and everything just works, this tells me that its a vid card driver conflict somewhere that's causing your headaches

time to check the disk for errors. if you manually power cycle the system in this manner, errors and potential damage can result. Be careful - determine the cause so you don't have to manually power cycle the system.

if all else fails, a clean install of Windows should correct the issue of not being able to shutdown/restart properly. once the restart/shutdown issue is resolved, you can then figure out which driver to go with.

it is like that becouse you have old bios on your video card. On dell website you can find info about this. Updating the driver from 8.6xxx to 8.7xxx without flashing to newer Vbios will cause this issue ( i had the same thing)

So flash your card with new Vbios and it should be OK :D

But first you need to reinstall the DELL STOCK DRIVER before you INSTALL THE VBIOS UPDATE.

Check with GPU-Z to see if your VBIOS number matches this one
