I have acquired the A04 BIOS unlock and it allows you to disable Intel IGP, configure a boot password etc...The M17xR3 I received shipped with the A06 BIOS. I have tested the A04 mod and there are CPU/GPU throttling issues (gtx 580m). Nvidia's optimus will not run several games and no amount of control panel configuration overcomes this issue...there are posts in many places concerning this issue. Disabling IGP is my goal and I believe a modded A07 BIOS will prevent the issues I am seeing with the A04 mod. I am certain the the 580m run's correctly with a 6/7 BIOS. A mod would be greatly appreciated.

It's not the BIOS that's causing the throttling issues from my understanding and the IGP is definitely not going to cause the throttling. Your best bet is to sit it out as if you use a modded bios and mess something up it's on you and not Dell.

why did you make two threads about this............

in any case, IGP doesn't cause throttleling. Its completely shut down when the Nvidia card is used. Its likely a bios or vbios problem, or maybe drivers
